Surgical Procedures

There are a few common conditions in fish and other aquatic animals that can be treated through surgical intervention.

Common surgeries include enucleation (removal of an eye) and tumour removal.

All invasive procedures are performed under general anaesthesia so the patient is unaware of the procedure being performed. Most simple surgical procedures will be performed on site following a pre-surgical check up.

Appropriate medications will be prescribed to support patients post-operatively to control pain and reduce the risk of infection.
